Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and Thomas Shepherd (Speed) were recently revealed to be the lost twins belonging to the Scarlet Witch, Thomas and William. They were created in the Vision and Scarlet Witch mini-series when the Scarlet Witch, in a desperate want for children of her own, used magic energies to create twin sons. The energies were later revealed to be two lost souls belonging to a demon, Mephisto, who reabsorbed them and put an end to the existence of the twins.
It is believed that after Mephisto was destroyed, the two souls that he claimed from the Scarlet Witch's twins were dispersed across the earth and ended up as Billy and Tommy, both of which had been identified by The Vision's fail-safe programme respectively.
At the end of Young Avengers #12, Billy expressed his desire to look for his mother, the Scarlet Witch, and Thomas joined the Young Avengers, taking on the codename of ‘Speed'.
